Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB), Guwahati

No.ATE.165/2021/30.- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to

Article 309 of the Constitution of India. The Governor of Assam is hereby

pleased to make the following regulations in respect of the composition 

and staff of the Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board.

Their tenure of office and conditions of service along with the categories of 

posts for which Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board shall 

conduct the recruitment process and make recommendations to the State

Government for appointments in those posts; namely:


1. Short title and commencement:

These regulations may be called the Assam Engineering Service 

Recruitment Board Regulations 2021.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of their publication in 

the Official Gazette


2. Definitions:

In these regulations, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or 

context.

Secretary, Technical Education" means the senior most Secretary of the 

Technical Education Department, Government of Assam.

"Board" means the Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board, Assam.

"Chairman" means the member of the Board who is appointed as Chairman.

"Member" means a member of the Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board, Assam and includes the Chairman thereof.

"Staff" means staff employed in the Board, excluding members.

"Compensatory allowances" means an allowance granted to meet the 

personal expenditure necessitated by special circumstances in which

duty is performed.

"Constitution" means Constitution of India

"Government" means the Government of Assam.


3. Constitution of Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board:

1. The State Government shall by notification in the Official Gazette 

constitute a body to be known as Assam Engineering Service Recruitment 

Board to exercise the powers conferred on and functions assigned to it 

under these regulations.


2. The Board shall consist of the following personnel:


The Board will be headed by an Officer in the rank of Commissioner and 

above or a reputed person from a technical background preferably 

engineering.

The Principal, Assam Engineering College, Guwahati

The Principal, Jorhat Engineering Colleges, Jorhat.

One from amongst the other Engineering Colleges will be nominated as 

Member of the Board.
